Elizabeth Templeton - MCM Teacher of the year 2008-2009
Mrs. Templeton holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Mississippi College. She is certified in
Social Studies and is recognized as a highly qualified teacher under the No Child Left Behind Act. She is also a
member of the Mississippi Council for Social Studies. In her eight years of teaching, she has taught learning
strategies and sixth grade western hemisphere and sponsored the Beta Club. Mrs. Templeton currently
teaches eighth grade American History and sponsors the MCMS dance team.
Nicole Shows - MCM Teacher of the Year 2007-2008
Mrs. Nicole Shows - Mrs. Shows holds a BLS in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University. A
fourteen year veteran teacher, she teaches sixth grade Science and Learning Strategies. She is also a
sponsor of the Dance Team. As a member of the PTO, she serves on the board as the teacher liaison.
Deborah Crane - MCSD & MCM Middle School Teacher of the Year 2006-2007
Ms. Crane is the Madison County Middle School Teacher of the Year. Ms. Crane holds a BLS in Elementary
Education from Millsaps College, and a MS in Education with a Specialization in Technology from Walden
University. She also received Gifted Certification and Special Education Certification at Millsaps College. Ms.
Crane currently teaches Gifted Education at Madison Crossing Middle School. She also teaches Art, Computer,
Creative Writing, Yearbook, and maintains the school web site. Ms. Crane was a presenter at the National
Association for Gifted Children Annual Conference in Charlotte, NC.
